Much like Storm Claudia tore through the northern region the prior day, City swept Manchester United aside at the Etihad Stadium. It was a statement three-nil victory for their manager's side owing to goals from Knaak, Bunny Shaw and Hemp. It was a result that firmly established their championship potential as they reinforced their place at the league summit.

Consecutive Losses for United

This result represented consecutive league setbacks for the United manager's side for the first time since May 2024, leaving them a sizable gap off the table toppers with their championship aspirations severely dented.

The Red Devils' capability to manage domestic and continental football with a limited team has been a hotly discussed subject since they qualified for the Champions League. Considering the fixture list, it always felt like this was the period that would fully examine this capability. Unfortunately for the away side, they seemed weary from start to finish, the memorable win against PSG clearly having left its mark.

Lineup Adjustments
