Britain's leader is expected to urge allies to deliver Ukrainian forces with more extended-range weaponry to hit Russian targets during talks in the UK capital on Friday.

The prime minister plans to receive Ukraine's leader Zelensky alongside referred to as "group of committed partners", including over twenty of Kyiv's partners who have agreed to grant Ukraine security guarantees once fighting stops is negotiated.

Ukraine's president has been pleading for an extended period for further long-range weapons from the West, an action that Moscow has stated would worsen the war.

The Ukrainian president is travelling from Brussels, where he conferred with EU leaders on Thursday requesting economic assistance.
