An additional two individuals have been arrested in connection with a robbery at Heathrow Airport in which 21 people were injured by a substance believed to be pepper spray, according to law enforcement.
A man, 24, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area on suspicion of robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, authorities confirmed.
These detentions come after a probe into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the attack, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their luggage after getting out of a car park lift.
A toddler aged three was one of the injured during the incident. Five people went to hospital for treatment and have since been released.
Officers arrested a man in his thirties for suspected theft and assault near the scene. He has since been released under investigation while inquiries continue.
Police were alerted at about 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding a number of individuals hurt by a noxious substance thought to be an irritant spray.
The attack - which police said was a standalone incident and not being treated as an act of terror - resulted in train delays and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a short time.
